Hi, I’m Erica. Welcome!

Bachelor of Music (Honours) - Victorian College of the Arts

I love teaching music, especially working with singer-songwriters and creative musicians. My lessons are personalised and practical, from beginner basics through to songwriting and creative development.

Since 2014, I’ve taught students of all ages and skill levels, in voice, guitar, ukulele and double bass — often combining instruments. I also specialise in music theory, songwriting and improvisation.

If you’d like to explore lessons, I offer a free consultation.

You can also get a feel for my teaching approach through my Practice Space podcast.

Erica is a really patient and kind teacher. She keeps positively working with mature students like me who have never picked up a string instrument in their life!
— Kate M (ukulele student)
Every lesson she peels back new layers of learning and ah-ha moments.
— Natasha M (singing and ukulele student)
She was swiftly able to identify weaker aspects of my technique and alter them through carefully prescribed vocal exercises.

Practice Space podcast

Practice Space is my free video podcast for musicians and music students. Each episode offers practical tips, thoughtful insights, and guided meditations to help you approach your instrument with joy, curiosity, and confidence. Overcome procrastination, stay curious, and bring more creativity into your daily practice.

Designed like a meditation app, the videos invite you to settle in for a few minutes of gentle chat and a guided meditation — then begin your practice.

I encourage my students to use the podcast for ongoing motivation and to maintain our connection beyond scheduled lessons.

You can browse or search the full Practice Space archives anytime to find episodes that match your current practice goals or mood.
