About singing lessons with me
My singing lessons balance technique with creative expression. They’re especially suited to singers who want to develop their own unique sound, improvise, write songs, or deepen their overall musicianship.
Lessons go beyond just technique — we can also explore ear training, music theory, self-accompaniment and creative expression to help you grow as a confident, well-rounded musician.
What you can study
Lessons are flexible and student-led, with no fixed method books — just music that feels meaningful to you. You can bring in songs you love, or even your own original music.
We’ll work toward your own goals and interests, and I will provide professional worksheets, handouts, and homework tasks, plus helpful recommendations for books and apps.
You can focus on any combination of these skills to suit your goals:
-
Healthy and efficient vocal technique
Breath control and support
Improving range, tone, and intonation
Creative vocal expression, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation
Improvisation, vocal runs, and scat singing
-

Instrumental skills (guitar, ukulele, or double bass)
-

“Erica was swiftly able to identify some of the weaker aspects of my vocal technique and alter them through carefully prescribed vocal exercises. I have since noticed outstanding improvements in both breath and pitch control and have gained almost an entire octave of range.”
“My daughter has developed so much musically under Erica’s guidance, it’s lovely to see. Lessons with Erica are one activity my daughter is always keen to do, even though she’s now an unpredictable teenager!”
About me
Bachelor of Music (Honours) - Victorian College of the Arts
Voice was my major at university, and remains my first instrument. Many of my students begin here, and then branch out into songwriting, theory, or recording. I’ve been teaching singing since 2014, working with everyone from beginners to experienced performers.
I love helping students grow in confidence and musicianship — whether that means improving your technique, writing your own songs, recording, picking up an instrument, or learning the music theory that helps you collaborate more fully.
