Creative and inspiring music lessons

Vermont / Bentleigh (Melbourne VIC) and online

Bachelor of Music (Honours) - Victorian College of the Arts

Hi, I’m Erica. Welcome!

Since 2014, I’ve worked with students of all ages and skill levels, offering creative, personalised lessons in voice, guitar, ukulele and double bass — often in combination.

I work especially well with singer-songwriters and students who want to play, sing and perhaps explore their own ideas. Lessons are flexible and student-led, with no method books — just music that feels meaningful to you.

Beginners can expect warm encouragement and plenty of patience as they build confidence and skills from the ground up, while more experienced students can dive deeper into areas like music theory, improvisation, songwriting, arranging and composition.

I teach solid, reliable technique and take it seriously in lessons, but I also believe music is about much more than just playing the notes. It’s about expression, creativity, joy, and meeting new challenges, while while building confidence and expressing yourself through music.

Lessons are taught one-on-one and I specialise in:

Core Instrument & Vocal Lessons

Lessons for Musicians Exploring Additional Skills

Songwriting, music Theory & Creative Development

Erica is a really patient and kind teacher. She keeps positively working with mature students like me who have never picked up a string instrument in their life!
— Kate M (ukulele student)
Every lesson she peels back new layers of learning and ah-ha moments.
— Natasha M (singing and ukulele student)
She was swiftly able to identify weaker aspects of my technique and alter them through carefully prescribed vocal exercises.
— Megan K (singing, guitar and songwriting student)
